Furry Art Contest - UPDATED!

As I'm sure many of you know, the FA: United convention is coming up in just a few months!

Because we've developed such a great relationship with Fur Affinity and the folks throwing the convention, Collar Factory is going to have a page in the Conbook.

This is where you come in: We have seen some truly stunning art around our forums, and we'd like to put some of that on our page.

The prize (IMPROVED): $75 off your next collar or cuff purchase or $50 cash to your PayPal account! Not to mention credit for your art on the page, and extreme bragging rights. PLUS: After the contest, all entries will be posted on a special, contest-entries-only thread on our forums, because even if we don't choose your image, we want everyone to see the beautiful work you've done.

The guidelines: Show us your character! Well, it doesn't actually have to be your character, but we would like to see a furry/animated character. PG-rated, please - no nudity, sexuality, or violence. Please depict the character prominently wearing a Collar Factory collar and cuffs, since that's what it's all about!

Technical (UPDATED): You may submit your entry in any web-friendly format, but if selected, the graphic must be available to us at a minimum of 8x10" at 300dpi, or in vector format. Send entries to webmaster@collarfactory.com, with the subject line "Furry United Art Contest Entry." Please keep all submissions under 2MB.

Due Date (EXTENDED): May 15!

Please note: You will receive credit for your art on the page, but we will retain all rights pertaining to the use of the image. We will not ever resell your image, but we may reuse it for future Collar Factory promotions, with credit.

Leather Engraving

Want special lettering or a specific design engraved on your Collar Factory collar or cuffs? We can't do it in-house, but we just met someone who can! He can engrave almost anything onto almost any leather strap, and he can even do limited leather embroidery. Learn more about it on the forums.

Collar Factory Accounts

So many of you wonderful collar lovers keep coming back, that we figured it was high time we made the ordering process easier. Now, if you enter a password at the top of your shopping cart and hit “Update cart,” you can check a box to save either your billing or shipping info (or both, or neither). Just re-enter that password the next time you shop at Collar Factory, and voilà! Your information will be ready and waiting.

We've heard from a ton of you working hard on your Collar Videos, and we can't wait to see them! Don't forget to join the Collar Factory YouTube group and get them uploaded before the voting begins. Collar Factory Video Contest

Win Cash, Collars, and Glory!

Have you been eyeing a Collar Factory collar, but don't quite have the pocket money? Are you tempted by the glory of having a high-ranked YouTube video? Do you have a webcam, a camera phone, or a friend with a video recorder? Now is your chance to win collars, cash, and glory through the Collar Factory video contest!

Make a video of your collar rant, collar song, collar scene, collar documentary, or collar skit. Post any video featuring a collar on YouTube, get ranked, and you could win cash, gift certificates, and an honored place on our site.

Here's how to enter:

Use a collar. Your video must include an actual collar. However, if you're waiting to get your sweet winnings before you go shopping, don't worry: the collar in your video does NOT have to be made by Collar Factory.
Give us a plug. Our URL, "www.collarfactory.com," must appear visually in your video.
Keep 'em on. Please help us keep this contest PG-13 and completely legal by showing NO NUDITY.
Post your video on YouTube. Make sure to tag it with "collar" and "factory," and then submit it to the Collar Factory group.
Distribute freely. You are 100% free to use your video in your portfolio, on your resume, on your personal sites, and whenever and wherever you like. You should be proud of your work, and we want you to show it off. We reserve the right to do the same: we will reuse contest videos on our site and in advertisements.

How will you pick the winners?

To win or place, your video must have at least 50 YouTube ratings.
The viewers decide. We'll pick winners based on the highest average score.

What are the deadlines?

On September 15, 2007, we'll start tallying votes. You may still enter your video after this time. On October 15, 2007, voting will close. We'll announce a winner before Halloween.

What do I get if I win?

First Prize: Your choice of a $150 CF gift certificate, or $100 cash deposited to your PayPal account. We'll embed the winning video on our welcome page and our MySpace page for a month, we'll link to you permanently, and we'll brag about you all over the place. And don't forget: a "winning video" is a great addition to a film portfolio or college application.

Second Prize: A $75 CF gift certificate (roughly enough for two simple collars, a collar and cuffs, or one elaborate collar). The second place winner will get the added honor of having their video displayed on the collarfactory.com forums.

Third Prize: A $35 CF gift certificate (roughly enough for one collar). The third place video will also be displayed on the collarfactory.com forums.

5 new leather colors!

Since one of our users' favorite aspects of the site is the color selection, we've stepped it up and added five new colors to the customizer! Orange is finally here, by popular demand. And we've added two new green shades, a cool Mint and warmer Lime. We've gotten lots of requests for a "burgundy" color, and our new Chocolate Raspberry leather comes really close. It's definitely more of a chocolatey brown than a burgundy, but it has a deep reddish tinge to it, too. And finally, we now have Sky Blue - not pale like the crayon color, but bright like the sky on a summer day.

You can use these five new colors when you build your collars in the customizer, so get to mixing and matching and see what you like. Remember, if you don't see what you want in the customizer, or you have an idea you'd like to see happen, let us know! We pick new colors and materials based on customer requests, and if a material is popular and we can find it, we'll make it available.
